Does hormone matter ?
Cherie30sFemale
I'm planning to start IVF, wondering if it necessary to do a hormone blood test prior the Ivf cycle? Will the results of this blood test help increase the accuracy of medciation during the egg stimulation process?
Side note * I have mild pcos with monthly period cycle of 30 to 33days

Answer from the Doctor
It is important to do a blood test for hormones prior to an IVF treatment. The levels of different types of hormones will be checked in the blood test.
1. Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
The blood test will be used to assess the level of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in your body. This will help your fertility doctor to have an understanding of the quality and quantity of eggs you may have.
2. Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH)
The levels of AMH are measured as a marker of ovarian reserve.
3. Progesterone
Progesterone levels indicate your ovarian function. A progesterone blood test is performed at a particular time in your cycle to check if your are ovulating or not.
4. Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
The levels of LH indicate both the oocyte quality and the endometrium. It also indicates if a person is ovulating
